Eric schwarz

Hi, I’m Eric (he/him), and I’m the founder and primary teacher at Queer Yoga WA

My teaching style draws on years of dedicated practice and study with many incredible teachers, including time spent on pilgrimage in India. I’ve led international retreats across the world—from tropical beaches to forest sanctuaries—and what always stays with me is the power of honest, embodied presence in community.

By day, I work as a nurse. I believe that transformative social change happens from the ground up—through presence, connection, and care. Creating this space is part of my contribution to a world where we can live free of shame around our bodies and celebrate ourselves from the inside out.

Every class weaves together yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, and a touch of Buddhist philosophy. We explore real-life themes through movement and stillness, often grounded in personal stories, modern psychology, and ancient wisdom. With a background in behavioral science and a lived commitment to self-inquiry, I teach with heart, humor, and a deep respect for the inner lives of others.

My dream is for you to leave class feeling resourced—connected to yourself, grounded in your body, and a little bit more open to the mystery of life. I want you to walk away not just stretched out, but stretched inward: toward presence, kindness, and community.

Whether you’re an experienced yogi, a curious first-timer, or someone who never thought they’d do this, you’re welcome here.
